  We accept pre-orders on weekends every 2-3 weeks (mainly Saturdays from 18:00 JST). The date and time are announced on our Instagram Stories. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

• How do I prevent rust? (Maintenance of black-scale iron products)

  * Rust-prevention maintenance We recommend applying beeswax wax or a dry-film type anti-rust spray. Apply lightly to the surface, let it dry, then store away from water and humidity. We recommend performing anti-rust maintenance regularly. Light surface rust can sometimes be removed simply by applying beeswax wax and rubbing with a cloth. Dry anti-rust sprays last relatively long, but are not recommended for areas that may come into contact with food. For items exposed to high heat such as the 1/f spider, we recommend seasoning them with a drying oil (such as grapeseed oil). * Removing surface rust For rust that cannot be wiped off with a cloth, gently rub with a scouring pad. Be careful to remove it gently so the black scale does not peel off. * If the silver base metal becomes exposed If the black scale peels off during removal of advanced rust, one remedy is to blacken the surface with a gun blue solution to form black rust on the surface. * This uses chemicals harmful to the human body, so do so strictly at your own risk. * This does not fully restore the original black-scale finish. * Color unevenness will occur. * Converting red rust to black rust There are rust-converter chemicals that turn red rust into black rust. They are easy to use, but as they are harmful to the human body, avoid using them on areas that touch food and limit use to fire pits and similar items. Many also contain anti-rust coating agents, which will affect the texture of the material. Please use with the above points in mind. * This uses chemicals harmful to the human body, so do so strictly at your own risk. * It will not turn completely black, and color unevenness will occur.
